Cercle Cité embraces a Dark Romance aesthetic for EQT’s Christmas Party
On December 11, 2025, the Cercle Cité an architectural jewel in the heart of Luxembourg City set the stage for EQT’s annual Winter Party, gathering 120 employees. The objective was to break away from traditional year-end festivities and embrace a striking aesthetic trend: Dark Academia. The challenge was clear how to transform a prestigious venue into an intimate sanctuary blending intellectual mystery with dark romanticism?
The scenography rose to the occasion by offering full immersion into the codes of Dark Romanticism. From the very first steps, guests were enveloped in a chiaroscuro atmosphere, where deep plum and burgundy tones draped the historical salons. The photocall, conceived as a living still life, paired heavy velvet with gilded candelabras and bunches of grapes. Far from minimalist standards, the décor celebrated texture, shadow, and the richness of detail.
The sensory experience began beneath the Cercle Cité’s majestic dome, transformed for the evening into a celestial vault through a star-studded lighting display projected across the entire ceiling.
This cosmic ambiance found its perfect echo in the evening’s prelude: a pianist performing the iconic Interstellar theme, instilling suspended emotion and solemnity. The musical overture paved the way for an exceptional seated dinner, where guests, gathered around elegant round tables, enjoyed haute-cuisine creations by caterer Julien Cliquet. The premium service and refined dishes elevated the baroque and sophisticated identity of the event.
As the night unfolded, the romantic and muted atmosphere gradually shifted toward a more vibrant tempo. After the prestige of the dinner, a DJ took over, turning the historical venue into a modern and energetic dance floor.
This mastered contrast between cinematic poetry at the opening and festive effervescence at the finale left a lasting impression, offering EQT’s teams a year-end celebration that was intimate, luxurious, and truly memorable.
